Naomh Mearnóg GAA Club Portmarnock welcomes you to our annual Under 14 All Ireland Football tournament. The tournament takes place over the June Bank Holiday weekend.
The tournament is now in its 7th year and we are delighted to host clubs from all over the country competing for the Govan Joliffe-Byrne Memorial Trophy & Shield.
Please note: Respect our neighbours and no parking permitted in Torcaill Estate.
Bus drivers need to be aware of a number of low bridges near the club.
About Govan
This event is an All-Ireland initiative which started in 2016 in memory of one of our outstanding young players who died in a tragic accident when on a working holiday in Africa in the summer of 2015.
When his family moved from Africa, Govan joined up with the Naomh Mearnog U14 football squad and quickly established himself as an outstanding team player. He went on to represent our club at every level, including being part of the U21 Championship winning team in 2014.
Govan had an infectious personality and was a great friend to everyone he met. We strive to ensure that this event does justice to the memory of an outstanding young man and a committed member of our club and community.
